We have been traveling back and forth between our new home in The Villages and the old home in Palm Harbor. Man O' Man is 54 one busy, busy road.....and we have yet to even see it at rush hour. How do people manage it at rush hour?

I have said for years it was getting worse by the year. I had to drive it to Gunn highway from 2008 till 3 months ago. It just got worse and worse and they kept adding red lights and one after another will stop you each time, and i mean every light from Starky to Gunn Nothing is timed right. I can go 8 MPH over the speed limit or 8 under the limit and each light would turn red. This was at 730 am and on the way back home around 445pm was not as bad as far backed up traffic. It will be a parking lot in a few more years as they are building like crazy.

I travel it all the time, but most times have the luxury to do so after 9am and before 4pm when it's not so bad.

A lot of development in that area. But it's really nothing compared to actual city traffic.

Wasnt that long ago it was just a 2 lane country road. Ever since the Veterans/Suncoast Pkwy that area has really grown. It'll be like SR60 in 10 more years. I seen pics of a proposed over pass at 41/54, never would of thought an over pass in Land o Lakes.

Yeah, I'm really confused by this complaint. I was able to go up Gunn to 54, then take 54 to Holiday during rush hour in the same stretch it usually takes me to get from HCC to Carrollwood on Dale Mabry.

You were going the other way if it was in the AM . Going east is bad on 54 in the AM.

Depending which direction and the time of the day. This morning there was an accident on 54 near Lutz and traffic was backed up for miles while the road wasn't even blocked just due to drivers slowing down and watching the cars and cops. The cars were off the road on the side.

Some days seem to be my lucky days when I have almost all green lights and some days I have almost all red lights.

I wish they had a green light zone like we had in Europe on roads like that. The signs above the road would project how fast you have to travel within the speed limit to get all green lights and over all it worked.

It saves on gas and nuisance as on the main road all lights will turn green at a set time to make the green wave possible.

In the evenings that is a different case as some lights only turn red on the main road if traffic from the side roads enters close to the traffic light, otherwise the main road lights stay green.

Who wants to stop on a main road for "NO" traffic from the other roads.

When everyone is forced to use the only major East/West road in the area and they keep building new housing developments. I am pretty sure its not going to be getting better anytime soon. With more schools and infrastructure to build, how soon before pasco gets major tax increases to pay for it all??
