Wishing you the best, NPG. Yes, NPG. You can't expect us to call you anything else.

I just happened upon this thread when looking for info on Sun City Center. (OK, I got sidetracked!) Can I ask what "NPG" stood for -- in other words, what area where you from? I am curious because you're saying The Villages is so much colder than what you were used to. I guess you were posting during the "cold snap" we all had a few weeks ago? I'm in Bradenton and though it felt freezing to me, it was only in the 50's LOL. Didn't realize The Villages was that much colder. And I assume it's also hotter in summer?

I have friends/relatives in The Villages and they all absolutely love it. However, the things that would deter me from moving there are (1) conservative politics, (2) distance to the beach, (3) hotter summers and (4) being in an area so far from any big cities. Your thoughts on this so far?

I lived in Palm Harbor, which is in North Pinellas County.....hence NPG. Now The Villages, so TVG.

Concerning here and there and the items you list....from my POV:

1) Politics is irrelevant to me. I am unaffiliated, so I couldn't care less if it leans more one way or the other.

2) Palm Harbor is definitely closer to the beach and we will miss that aspect.

3) I am fine with anything involving heat. Cannot tolerate cold.

4) I am not a city person AT ALL, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Trumanville type development.....LOL!

Northern Pinellas County is a fantastic area to live, IMO.

Thank you for your quick response! I don't even "do the sun" anymore, but when I think about NOT having beautiful Anna Maria Island 10 mins. away for the gorgeous Gulf sunsets, I just can't. But I might wind up somewhere else, for other reasons that are making me miserable. It's not always about the sunsets.
