Hyde Park has a Publix at 2401 W Azeele St. Tampa, Fl for the people who live in Hyde Park exclusively. The boundaries of Hyde Park do not go all the way to the new Publix at 243 Bayshore Blvd. This Publix was built for the people of downtown Tampa residents.

Its pretty common for grocery store's or even bank's to put an armed guard out front, usually after they've been robbed.
The Publix on Bayshore isn't that new, its at least 10 years old and they're already talking about tearing it down to build a new one, the Publix on Azeele in Hyde Park is a lot newer.

The Bayshore Publix wasn't built for people who live downtown because there is very few people that live downtown. It was mainly built for people who live in Hyde Park, Davis Island, and Channelside.

The boundaries of Hyde Park end at Kennedy and Bayshore. Bayshore does not go to Downtown Tampa. Where are you getting your information?

"Bayshore Boulevard is a waterfront road on Hillsborough Bay in South Tampa, Florida. Located south of downtown Tampa"

I seen a guard or deputy at most publixes at one point or another,I don't think they are there full time. Downtown Tampa is on the other side of the river.

It is very close to areas that are very cheap to live at.

I've never seen a guard at any Publix. If you saw one, they aren't there on behalf of Publix. They don't hire security.

Wesley Chapel doesn't have any armed security but if they would have it, that wouldn't bother me.

I see what you mean MAniacTHW. When your in the area of the Publix I went to, I saw huge skyscrapers all around me, It is so close to downtown Tampa. I thought it was downtown.

But my question is about, why there is a guard protecting Publix. He was inside the store, right in front of the cash registers. He had a side arm which was a GLOCK 17 9mm Safe-Action Pistol. I know about all guns. Is there a bad area in Hyde Park, near downtown where criminals rob stores. I always thought that area is very safe.

The nearby bad areas are north of 275 and East Tampa.
