This is easily the best comment I've seen on this board. "Built up" now equals New Port Richey and Spring Hill.

I lived in Riverview from '08 until '12.
Off of Boyette Road and Tarragon.
It's decline increased a LOT starting in 12.
I belonged to the Facebook page that someone had for that neighborhood - (who was a total and complete power driven nut case) - she wouldn't allow negative comments be posted when someone complained about speeders, or neighbors who would have not cut the grass in weeks - or taken out the garbage... she was a nut...
The crime in that community went up and we got out.
We no longer even live in Florida - but that wasn't by design, it just happened to work that way.
We loved it when we first moved there but now are very happy to be away.

Its a total shame whats happening to Riverview and Brandon area, Developers and poor planning are making life difficult here. the last two years i lived there it got worse and worse. It made us move out of state, it got that bad!! Rent went up 100 dollars in one year.. Much cheaper where I live now and we haven't got hardly any snow moving 800 miles north. But honestly People can look at pictures on Craig list google earth or apartment guide and of course its gonna look nicer then there run down coal town in west Virginia, Ohio or Pennsylvania. But there is so many variables. The Cost of living has risen ridiculously. Insurances, Rent and even day today Grocery's. The urban sprawl is a mess and these feeder roads like big bend, Gornto lakes, providence gibsonton etc cant handle the additional population. Its becoming dangerous driving on major roads like 301, 41 and 60. Going to walmart or publix even started to become a nightmare, a 5 minute drive became 15-25 at times. Also, With this unplanned growth brings the pipeline of homeless, illegals and criminals with warrants.,

But when i tell the truth, some people say I am a troll. That is not right. I have a degree in Business Administration and minor in urban planning and my wife is a Lawyer now with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. So we are not uneducated people! We just seen a huge decline in the quality of life in the Tampa suburbs and that decline was rapid! I never had any problem with heat, bugs or rain. I could care less about that. The quality of life is the problem!

I don't think you are a troll...you just had a very negative experience in the Tampa area and that is the lens by which you view all the area...My son will be 30 and like your wife is also an attorney and his wife is an FSU graduate with a business degree...they have had a very positive experience living and working in TB(St. Pete) and enjoy a high quality of life...so have my husband and I...so I guess perception highly determines your negative view as well as my more positive view...I think other posters on the TB forum just wonder why you seem to be so emotionally invested in a place you left...

I laugh when I see the thread title "Riverview Too Good to Be True". I agree with you wholeheartedly. These areas that you mention (Brandon, Riverview, Gibsonton, and I include Ruskin, Apollo Beach areas) are so poorly planned that these areas are eyesores to drive through and one of the downsides to living down here.
