Hi all. I'm currently a 20 year old Junior at college in New Jersey. I went to Clearwater for spring break last year and fell in love with the place. I'm studying law and I'm currently involved in law enforcement here. I would like to get a job with the Clearwater Police if I were to move. I've looked at multiple apartments on rent.com. I'm looking to spend around $400 - $500 a month if I were to get a roommate. A few questions:

#1 - Are there any bad areas that I should avoid when looking for an apartment?

#2 - Are jobs easy to come by? (restaurants, retail, etc.)

#3 - Is there a good nite life for people my age?

#4 - Is there an area of 'older people' that I should avoid?

#4 - Are the surrounding areas like St. Pete similar to Clearwater?

Please be as specific as you can. You can even use street names if you'd like. I have maps to help me. Thanks!

Jobs should be easy to come by. there are tons of restaurants and shopping places. Plenty to do at night for someone your age. I'm a bit older now (32) but anywhere around Tampa, St.Pete you'll always have something to do. Hope you like the beach life. St. Pete/Clearwater is very similar all about retirees with Money. Lots of Condos going up and big money invested in them. You'll be lucky to find a rent for under $900 a month and that's maybe a 1 bedroom. My friend has always told me to avoid living in South St. Pete but i'm not sure where not to look in Clearwater.
