Now this Florida buyer's agent wants me to sign some sort of agreement with him, which I am disinclined to do. I'm doing a lot of the work on the internet myself, and if I find something not through him, I don't want to pay him. I also have heard he does not have a good reputation, and now I don't know whether to trust my friend or start over and make my own decision based on who is the most helpful.
I made this misstake to go with a realtor I didn't like at first and made up many excuses why the where acting this way until it became worse and worse...go with your gut feeling.
Don't sign if you aren't comfortable. Don't give out all your info if you just make one call to ask a question about the listing the realtor has, just interupt and tell them you have a question instead of getting tons of questions about your personal info. To me if a realtor does that that is a huge red flag....if the realtor respects the client on the phone he will answer the question you have and than start a conversation and if you feel comfortable you can give more info to that person.
Some think they are working with the bank I guess, where they want to check who you are before giving answers about your bank account, well this is different and I'm not willing and think the realtor is bad and has nothing more to do if they immediatelly take over the conversation to get your info.
