Hi Everyone!

We are a late 40s early 50s couple looking to move to the Tampa area possibly sometime after my youngest graduates HS (approx 3 years). We don't need school districts but here are some of the things that I would be looking for and wondering if you fine folks could help us narrow down some areas to look.

Right now we live in NJ and we're looking for the same thing we have here (or as close as we can get it) but in Florida.

Suburban area - we are not city people
Would like a nice community neighborhood
Within about a half hour to the beach
Villa style house (no stairs)

We will have to find jobs when we're down there so i'm sure wherever we live would be dictated by where we find a job eventually but just wanted to get some ideas of some nice areas to start looking or to visit when we come down to Florida.

Thank you for your assistance
Stacy

Then Tampa probably isn't the best place. You should instead look at the suburbs.

Since you have 3 years to decide you could start looking at where you can find jobs. That should narrow down your search for living quarters.

We are moving to the Tampa Area from NJ as well..We are heading down in a few weeks to hopefully buy a house all barring we can find something we love as our daughter graduates HS next year...It really depends what it is your looking for, a villa is attached we are buying a Ranch as we want no Stairs...my husband just turned 50 and I will be 49 and our children are/will be in College already...

and It will def depend on where your jobs will be...We are hearing about A lot of Traffic, although coming from Jersey it isnt a big deal but who wants to sit in it all day? lol

Check out Clearwater, St Pete, Westchase, Safety Harbor....Then you can look at Palm harbor, Wesley chapel and Land O Lakes however these towns are about 45 min on a good say from the beach...Palm Harbor might be a little closer...

Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like we're in similar situations/age group.

Yes

We are on the fence about a Planned Community especially as my kids are 22 and 18 we really won't use the amenities and whatever else the development has to offer...However we aren't taking it off the list so we will see what we can find
