Someone was PMing me the other day and was talking to me about Tampa vs. St. Petersburg bar culture. They were saying that the downtown Tampa bars could be compared to the scene in American Psycho where these big financial businessmen go to smoke cigars, flaunt their wealth, and pick up gold digging women. Then, they said that St. Petersburg bar culture was more just more artsy and creative types of people that flock to those bars. Is this true?

And that's why you don't tend to listen to people.

One would argue that The Hub doesn't exactly attract the "business types." The bars near Ashley tend to get a lot of the UT kids. Channelside gets some of the locals. Honestly, most of the bars I can name Downtown don't even allow smoking.

I tend to go to the same 2-3 bars out there. And I highly doubt you'll be checking out the Sapphire Lounge or Hidden Springs.

Same as anywhere else. Have you been to a bar?
