I'd recommend a trip to the Dragon.Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap
I could never leave the house with all the pricey toys i have. I will shoot anyone that loots. The Vette is being shipped off Wends to TX. It was going for a engine swap anyways at a performance shop in north TX in Oct. So at least it should be safe. If my area sees winds 100mph and under i will be fine if it tracks east of Tampa. If the house gets the roof ripped off then i will just leave it and buy another 40k house if any are left standing. I don't have Ins anyways , but saved enough in 14 years to buy two more homes. Worst case for me would be surge since i am on the gulf.

Just pray that ridge will weaken more and allow the storm to track more east. The sooner it starts to turn the better.

Likewise.... yep, saw that tolls are being waived. Just wonder how many are heading out already and if traffic is unusually heavy.

I'm still hopeful that this hugs east of us.

I think you need facebook to see this link, but it has a very good explanation from local Tampa meteorological experts. Put out within the last hour and explains why an exact path prediction can't be done.
Mother Nature doesn't play by any rules so predicting what she'll do is a somewhat educated guess. I've seen the path swing back towards west and now maybe back towards east, hopeful to see it miss everyone and die peacefully at sea, but I don't think that will happen.

Not worried about the flooding, even cat 5 we are still clear of any water. I'm more concerned with the crap that ends up being airborne at 150mph.

Projection models are showing Irma shifting back to the east, look at difference between models over time. Let's keep hoping that it pushes further east.
