Planning a future transfer to our Tampa terminal next year, but kinda rattled about all the sinkhole activity as of late. Thinking about home rentals in and around Brandon, FL but that location seems as though its in the middle of sinkhole alley, just trying to understand what im getting myself into.

Brandon is no where near sinkhole alley. The only sink hole I can think of near Brandon was over in seffner north of Brandon. I have lived in Brandon since 1975. Sink holes would be #578419845621 on my list of things to worry about. North pinellas county and west pasco would be much closer to sink hole ally. They would be an hour drive from Brandon.

Even though it says Hernando County, this is actually a sinkhole map for the entire state.

That's probably not very comforting to the 7 homes over in Land O Lakes at the moment.

If you're looking at Brandon, then you don't much have to worry about what's going on in Tampa.

Very much true! We do like taking the quick drive to downtown on occasion for a concert or lightning game. My grandson likes the occasional outing to the Glazer or the Aquarium and sometimes the boardwalk. The Beauty of being in Brandon is the easy quick access to downtown when needing a diversion. Otherwise what is needed for everyday life is less then 2 miles away, mostly in walking distance in Brandon. Seldom do we need to go anywhere in tampa. We mostly use tampa as a means to get to Pinellas.

I'm failing to see what any of that has to do with the worry of sinkholes in a city you're not planning on living in.

But I'd be very curious to hear what parts of Brandon are "walkable."

Dam dude, I'm speaking in general, but I appreciate all the great advice though, kinda want to live outside the beltway, still a good 6 months or so before I transfer, just scopin out the area, spotted Florida sinkhole activity videos on YouTube, just thought id get some perspective on the situation howboudit.

True, but the OP asked for sinkhole advice. I've posted this before in another thread, but this NOVA special should be required viewing for anyone contemplating moving to West Central Florida and maybe some other parts of Florida.

Although the special deals with sinkholes all over the planet, considerable time is devoted to Florida and explains why local governments permit development in sinkhole areas.
