I've never cared for the vibe in J Ville. Not really sure what it is. We also have friends in Largo and New Port Richey. I need to sort of sell my wife on this move and knowing some people will make her feel more comfortable sooner.

The Spring Hill area is attractive because of the affordability of homes and conveniences near by. Proximity to Tampa and beaches as well. I actually prefer Pasco county, Land o Lakes Wesley Chapel and Trinity but home prices are much higher and so are the taxes.

I need to really stretch my dollars as much as possible as I plan on living on a fixed income.

All good reasons. I was disciplined and stuck to a budget. Bottom line - I wanted to get a certain type of house within a specific price range that was in an area with the amenities we needed. I don't want to be house-poor and do want to be able to retire at some point. So, here we are.

We're looking forward to our move further north in Florida. Definitely more bang for the buck.

The area around Springhill has all the stores you could possibly want to shop at including 3 supersize Walmarts. Although it is lacking in beaches it does have Pine Island https://i1.wp.com/www.naturecoaster....72%2C372&ssl=1

And the Weeki Wachee river http://weekiwacheekayakrental.com/th...ges/river1.jpg

Sweet! That's what I like to hear. I feel like it has everything that you would expect in a nice sized town. I am happy to drive 40 minutes to Wesley Chapel for real shopping or an hour and change to Clearwater beach or to Tampa for amusement parks, zoo or whatever. Those are places I would visit fairly infrequently and the tradeoff as far as saving money on a home is well worth the hassle.

Before moving to Spring Hills I would look into sinkholes, there are many in that area.

It's definitely my biggest fear! I think I may suck it up spend a little more and try to get into southern Pasco LOL, Odessa area. I would even consider East Hudson and northern LOL along 41 and 589.

The worst sinkholes have been in Pasco County.
