Does anyone know how long you need to be off Frontier service to qualify as a new customer?

Frontier is def playing games with people. Our promo price is good until end of December, but I received a letter in the mail stating I have less than 30 days left. I contacted them to see my options and was told - sorry, have to contact us when your current promo is over, but they tried really hard to sell additional services to me.
So my promo price ends at the end of this year but contract with them is for another 2 weeks when I will have to pay full price.
If I want to switch to Charter, when do I need to do so? Someone mentioned it has to be done so no new charge will be added.

Plus we never do a pay per view with Frontier. The result, our bill is the same every month and it appears to be impossible for them to screw it up. No charges for DVR, set top boxes or extra rooms. Any premium content we want we get via Netflix or Amazon. Total monthly outlay is significantly less than before.
I agree the service is still good on the still relatively new FIOS infrastructure Verizon installed. Give it time and history details that frontier will let it degrade. That's what they have done with all of their holdings. When you're expanding and bankrupt there is no money for maintenance or upgrading. Its a shame. The internet needs regulations as a utility, because that is what it is in 2017.

Verizon did the same thing to me when my promos were over. Don't mess around if you have another provider call them and see whats available. Consider placing a order and see if you can terminate if you're not happy within 30 days after the install get it in writing. Then call frontier and cancel service tell them you have a better offer for service or have already switched. I think they will take you serious and make you a offer. These sad isps are gambling that the customer won't go through the hassle of actually switching isps even if they have options.

They pull this crap on me when my promos are over next March I'll simply say my house is already wired with charter and WOW, BYE!

The last time I tried this approach at the end of a contract the ISP (a local Tampa service provider) just said, "Sorry to see you go" and that was that.

I don't think it's nearly as competitive as it was some years back, and to add to that, ISPs like Frontier are so woefully incompetent that they don't care or don't have a retention department like Verizon used to.

We went off contract with Verizon almost exactly the same time Frontier took over. I waited for our rates to increase after we went off contract, but they never did, so I didn't poke the bear.

About six months ago we decided we really wanted the land line gone, so I called Frontier about it, knowing full well and good that it wouldn't make a significant difference in our bill - we just wanted it gone.

They confirmed the change would be minimal, but that if we did anything to change our current arrangement all deals were off and it was a whole new ballgame with their rates and packages. I quickly thanked the rep for the information and hung up.

It's been a year and a half since we went off contract and we're still paying the FIOS/Verizon promo rates for our services, so I'm not going to upset the applecart and change anything.
