35 days (and counting) with mountains of storm debris blocking streets, City of Tampa Solid Waste gets: F

Three F's, that's an average of F in my book!

I could easily hire someone to haul away my debris. But it's the principle of the matter. They said the debris would be picked up weeks ago. They lied.

Hmm culbreath having those kinds of problems ? I doubt

Its definitely being handled a lot different than it was back in '04. For those that lived here then probably remember all the pick up trucks w/ the big trailers that had #'s spray painted on the sides. They were all over town, everywhere. What I see now is big semi trucks w/ trailers and a grappler picking up the brush but definitely not as many people picking it up as back in '04.

Yup, I am in Manatee, and they picked it all up in my neighborhood last week with one of those big rigs. Thank goodness!

Seems all the streets around me have been picked up except for my street -- I'm guessing because our street is not a main thru street. I've seen those big trucks coming and going but I guess we're on their ignore-for-now list. Good thing I moved the pile off the grass onto my driveway a while back a week after the storm when I sensed it wasn't going to be a quick cleanup. I've been whittling it down a bit every week filling up the trash can from the weekly pick up. In another month or two the pile will probably disappear no thanks to the county pickup, maybe I'll leave them a twig or two.
