Would you be in favor of banning alcohol to increase public safety? Afterall, alcohol is more a public safety threat than guns are.

Like I posted. Accept it. It'll happen, maybe once a month. Perhaps an Elementary School. Or a Walmart (Thornton, CO). Maybe a 20-30 kindergartners. Move on. Part of our society. Kind of like a tornado. Sometimes they hit big cities and cause a lot of death. A way of life that we all have to accept.

I like my chances vs those potential weapons than dodging bullets coming out of a high powered semi-automatic assault rifle.

latest I heard was this guy was likely taken out by a good guy with a gun who confronted the perp as he left the church...It's not good people who use guns legally that do these things, it is bad people who often don't even get the weapons legally...so, all the laws in the world aren't going to stop them...

Looking at a few countries that have virtually no gun crime like Japan/Australia/England the people arent so blood thirsty that they resort to any means possible to satiate their need to kill if guns arent available.
America has a big problem with easily accessible guns and its taking its toll, if nothing is going to be done about the carnage caused by guns then we we will just be talking about the next mass murder in a week or two.

As senseless as these mass killings are, the media loves to sensationalize each event to the max. That along with the talking heads analyzing each event in detail for weeks on end, help give the impression they are a daily occurrence. The facts show that over the last 30 yrs only 4 times have there been more then 50 killed in mass shootings in a year throughout the whole United States. To put that in perspective in Chicago alone this year 3196 people have been shot, 557 have been killed. Intercity drug gangs are causing the majority of gun deaths each year but our media would rather you look elsewhere then see the real problem.

Heinous acts happen everyday, but it is interesting what the MSM and its rabid followers use their selective outrage for. Is it the deaths of these innocent people or the use of fire arms or the type of firearms or the number killed at once? Just curious, its sad whenever innocent life is taken. Just wonder why some are given more focus then others.

That you can go to a concert, church or kindergarten and get blown away makes it heinous and newsworthy. Mass murders should always be newsworthy.
