Hi, my husband is potential he taking a job in the Tampa area. I'd love advice on the nicest areas to live. We have three children 13 through six. We're open to private schools, if public schools are not a great option. Wanting an area of that is very safe.
Thanks for the input!

Without more information you're not going to get much in the way of a response. Such as:

Housing budget
Where will husband be working? (location)

Try using the "search" function, too, as this is a question that comes up quite often. It has been addressed numerous times.

I always liked Cheval at Lutz up near TPC Tampa Bay off Lutz Lake Fern Rd.....country area, nice homes. Schools looked new, but I wouldn't have a clue about the quality of the education there. That area of the TB region seems to have a "new" feel to it with appropriate road infrastructure (Suncoast Parkway) and not the eyesore commercial businesses with poor disorganized community development that you see in places like Brandon, Riverview.

Not sure how far south you are willing to go. There is a very nice community a little north of Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch. It’s trendy and has shops within the community. It is also located near University Town Center. UTC recently hosted the World Rowing Championship (not that has an impact on your decision, but they build it mainly because of this event). It’s a lovely community.

It’s worth checking out unless you are adament on staying close to Tampa.

Tough world out there for realtors, I guess. Gotta get a lead any way you can. They have families to feed. But it seems like more and more realtors have found this forum and looking for potential customers.

Absolutely. How many have trolled the forum trying to snag potential customers, only to get rebuffed by the mods?

:roll eyes:

That's why I liken them to used car salesman. Every realtor I have known is in some way predatory. Subtle or direct, they're always looking for that next listing...

Good for you. I have no doubt there are good ones out there, just as there are car salesmen/women.

Sadly, I have neighbor who is a realtor. She has regular social events at her house that she bills as being "neighborhood parties" which is nothing more than a ploy to try and coerce residents to list with her should they be selling their house. It's so patently blatant that I don't think anyone goes to them any more. Sad.

We have a very good real estate attorney that handles everything for us, buying or selling. We pay him a good fee and he makes sure everything happens as it should. Haven't used a realtor for a number of sales or purchases thanks to his involvement. I realize that's not for everyone and you do provide a useful service to some, we just rarely have a need.

OP - More specific info is needed. Especially if you want valuable advice.
