Need advice from real estate people (Tampa: apartments, to live, moving)

I'm planning to visit Tampa to view apartments prior to moving there. What would be the best time to do this with respect to our move date? I was thinking of flying to Tampa two weeks prior? Will that be enough time to secure a place for a move in date 2 weeks later?

I am an assistant manager for an apartment community and allowing a little bit of time to get an apartment set up is good. Granted the community may be able to get you in immediatly or within a week depending on occupancy/vacancy. Most communities have a 60 day notice, so you can look up to 60 days in advance. On top of that, most apartment communities will also do everything through the mail, so if you do not know which place you want to live, you can always call back and do everything through mail and fax.
