When I compare prices, Publix is more expensive for nearly everything we buy. People make a big deal out of their BOGOs but IMO, Winn-Dixie has just as many if not more.
The Winn Dix in Hudson has been dead for years and prices are higher than Publix. Not sure what a BOGO is.

Kroger is successful. It has been in check with Publix's consistent expansion.

Many Winn-Dixie stores are reaching or have passed twenty years of operation. Stores that opened in the 1990's could be salvageable. Stores that date back to the 1970's and 1980's would need to replaced.

If Winn-Dixie does not improve after Southeastern Grocers' restructuring, more stores could close. I do not see Winn-Dixie improving much.

I went shopping at Kroger today they had their spiral ham 99 cents a pound, and honeysuckle white turkey breast at 88 cents a pound, 3 dz lg eggs $1.38, and gallon milk a little over a dollar. Plus they have their own gas stations. Kroger is expanding under other names.

Kroger operates more than 2,500 stores under more than two dozen different banners. In addition to Kroger Stores, its groceries include Cala Foods, City Markets, Copps, Dillons, FoodsCo, Fred Meyer Stores, Fry's, King Soopers, Mariano's Fresh Market, Metro Market, Pick 'n Save, Quality Food Centers (a.k.a. QFC), Ralphs, Food 4 Less, and Smith's Food and Drug. Also owns Barclay, Fox's, Fred Meyer, and Littman jewelers, and Kwik Shop, Loaf 'N Jug, and Quik Stop convenience stores.
