Space Shuttle Endeavor on its way to Kennedy Space Center passed overhead around 8:30pm tonight with a major loud boom. It rattled our doors and windows. Several of us (neighbors) went outside wondering what the heck?!?!? We couldn't see any contrails, it was too cloudy. Did anyone else hear it?

Was it two booms in a row? I guess it's possible that it was the shuttle. I grew up in Titusville and even that close to KSC it wasn't much louder than thunder.

I was in the car so I didn't get to hear it, but when I came home around 5 min after the boom, my mom said the windows rattled like crazy and she thought someone broke into the house LOL

According to wiki, the first boom is from the increase in pressure from the nose and the second is from the decrease from the tail.
