I would rather have the heat and find that it's not that bad here in Florida. The winters up north can be deadly. Getting stuck along the road is a real possibility. If the weather is really bad you can wait for hours for help to arrive.

Search for snowy road crashes on you-tube to get a glimpse at what it's like to live up north in the winter.

Heat deaths are a little different. Those people aren't trapped by the heat. Help can get to them if they choose to ask for it.

Obviously help never arrived or these people just wanted to die as the death toll is now up to 33.

Sounds like they didn't ask for it. Or nobody cared enough to check up on them.

No need to justify. I looked forward to it for years. Love the storms here too. Maybe it will wear off, but I doubt it. And I didn't just move here. I've owned property here since 1981.

This morning I rode my bicycle for an hour as the sun was coming up, went home and took a dip in the pool then drove to the store with the top down and I can do that all year long here.

We spent whole weekends snowed in up north. Missed work because roads were impassable. -20 degrees - 40 mph winds - 6 to 10 foot high drifts. Yuck. Dig out the driveway to get out, dig it out again to get back in.

I was just up there last week for a funeral, couldn't wait to get back. The roads suck as soon as you get north of Kentucky. They still have deep pot holes and it's July. The roads are all patches on patches.

If you haven't lived in it, you don't have a clue.
