Just odd when i lived in rich Danashores no one ever fired off fireworks and then i moved to the poorest area in the country with all section 8 and these scum bags spends 100's for fire works and don't even have jobs bob.
You need to shop online for your ammo cause you're getting ripped. You can get 454 cassull for 1.21 per round. .45 acp is only .23 per round. 460 for as cheap as .85 per round. 50 cal is about 2.68 per round

I was talking about 460. cal. And that was hot loads over 25 years ago. I have not bought ammo since 1997. I sold over a 100 guns and got stuck with lots of blanks that were used on farms to scare birds. I have like 5 guns left and in heavy Cal's no one wants to buy. I sold most of the blanks years ago but still have around 50lbs of them. The 50. cal blanks were used on some farms in north FL that went out of bizz years ago.

Ammo is very pricey in bigger Cals. It has all gone sky high in ever 22,cal to 38.cal. No wonder i gave up shooting years ago.

I am not one to whine or complain about every little thing but I have hoped for years that fireworks would go away. They can be very stressful for veterans as well as pets and wildlife. They cause air and noise pollution. They are a fire risk. I just don't get how all of that is worth it. I enjoyed hearing o nthe news about alternatives some towns are using this year where the fire risk is too great - laser shows, drones doing formations, etc. You don't need to shoot off fireworks to celebrate our country's independence.

We were eating lunch in Kentucky this week at a restaurant next to a fireworks store. I didn't see any Cadillac's in the parking lot. Several had the trunks so full of fireworks they had to put the overflow in the back seat with the kids.

That's mostly due to the surrounding states making fireworks illegal and enforcing the laws. People in Indiana, Ohio and elsewhere flock to Kentucky to buy fireworks, which are legal there.

I grew up in that part of the world, and each year before the 4th there would be someone you knew who collected money and made a "fireworks run" to Kentucky to stock up on fireworks....

They are illegal in Florida so I don't understand why they are sold. I know there is a loophole in the law which allows them for agricultural purposes but I doubt even 1% of the people buying them are using them for that purpose.

Last night the neighbors started with the fireworks around 8:30 and didn't stop until past midnight. My 35 pound dog spent the night under my bed and wouldn't even come out to eat dinner. I usually walk her around 7 p.m. but we had a severe thunderstorm roll through around 5:30 which lasted for hours. Just when that stopped the fireworks started. My cat stayed in the closet all night also. It's really ridiculous.

It sounded like Beirut circa 1982 near my house last night. Luckily, my dog didn't care and spent most of the night snoozing on the sofa while I was watching a movie.

Every 4th of July, I pray to the rain gods to open up the skies and dampen the spirit of the pyromaniacs.
