Surprised I can't seem to find this online. But I'm looking for neutral websites with info on the candidates to help decide who to vote for. Is there anything online? Also looking for something for state candidates, judges, & school board.

Did you already determine who you are eligible to vote for?

Here's the place to start:

Yes, I've got the sample ballot in the mail. Would be nice if there was something online that showed a non-biased side-by-side comparison of their resumes and beliefs/political stances.

I don't know if this will help you or not. I wish I could remember the site I used during the last election to make my decision on the judges, not sure if it was balletopedia or not. Judges are VERY important. More important than I realized. For example, where I live now, I just found out as a result of election season that my county has something called a "Mental Health Court". In all the years I lived in Hillsborough, I never heard of anything like that. I guess you have to have a way to get disturbed people off the street and prevent them from being a danger to themselves and others. OTOH, the old Soviet Union had mental health courts, except I think they were called "Mental Hygiene Courts". They were used for putting dissidents in the gulag or in Lubyanka prison.

Agree. It IS hard to find a neutral website because I do not believe there really is one.

Take the "Tampa Bay Times 2018 Florida voter guide" with a big grain of biased salt also.

The Florida Channel (I receive free, over the air with digital antenna) has had question & answer sessions with state candidates which is decent info. Here is a link https://thefloridachannel.org/2018-elections/

I wish everyone would take their responsibility to vote as a serious matter that requires real thought and
not get hooked into political party hysteria.

As a side note; any negative/attack ads automatically disqualifies a candidate from my vote. I just hope there is a candidate left standing.

The Florida Bar has self-reported info on many of the judges:

https://www.floridabar.org/public/fa...ialcandidates/

I also think judges are very important. Think about the direct immediate effect they have on defendant's/plaintiff's lives. I do not want Judge Judy on the bench. I am trying to take the time to be an informed voter and make educated decisions. But it's harder than I would have ever imagined to get straight-up factual side-by-side information. The St. Petersburg Times has articles where they recommend certain candidates.

The articles do give a little information about all the candidates that doesn't come across with a negative tone. But I have reservations about taking voting advice from the corporate media. All junk mail goes straight in the trash and all political TV ads get muted immediately or I hit the BACK button to watch something else.

And I do watch The Florida Channel (which has no ads of any kind). Most boring channel on the planet, but has a lot to see if you're into politics. (By the way, there is no such thing as a "digital" antenna. That's all marketing nonsense. RF is RF.)

Sorry if my recommendation for candidate research upset you with such a minor technicality dealing with digital vs. analog antennas. You are welcome.
