Sooo I've been to the area several times, and normally go to Clearwater beach... I'm curious if the area has any alternatives that are nice but maybe less populated? Any recommendations? Thank you!

It's a bit away from Clearwater, but one of the best beaches in the general area is on Anna Maria island off of Bradenton.

Coquina Beach
Casey Key
Longboat Key
Bradenton Beach

But I wouldn’t go in the water if I were you. It’s toxic. Please see the MANY red tide threads.

I've been reading but it's all mixed. I see people saying that they tell you the status in the morning and it's spotty where it shows up. Is that Clearwater that has red tide as well?

Definitely check out the beaches of Anna Maria, Coquina Beach is one of my faves. Red tide is offshore now, so no smell, but I agree to stay out of the water. Lots of great dining around there, too.
