Or is the parent's choice where they can go to school? I know in Pinellas they have the choice program but in Pasco I thought your kids go to the school that they are in the boundaries for. Someone told me different today and I am confused! HELP,Thanks!

My child goes to a different school than where he is suppose to go to, according the zoning boundaries in Pasco. Since more school have been opened, they are not very strict about it, if you have a good reason for it. They only thing is the school bus doesn't go there so I have to drive, which I don't mind.

That is great to know. I wouldn't mind driving my child if it meant them going to a better school than the one they are zoned for. thanks for your response!

I'm pretty sure Pasco has school choice. I know we looked into sending our child to a few different public schools.

It's my understanding that the "choice" option is supposed to be phased out due to the overcrowding at "certain" schools. So, I'm taking this into consideration while house hunting. I don't want to bank on "maybe" being able to send my kids to the school "over there" and in two years, it's a no go.

Yes, you are probably right. I am keeping schools on my mind first when looking for houses.

For the most part I think it is the parent's choice where to send their children. The only issue you will have is busing. They are zoned for certain areas. So where you live will determine whether the bus picks up your child or not. It may not matter for some, but if you have to get to work earlier than your child goes to school, it may become a problem.
