Hi everyone,

I have a ton of questions but any help you can give would be great. Here's my story....

I will be moving to the St Pete area soon due to my husband's job (USCG). We are looking to rent in Seminole. I have heard it is fairly quiet....is this true? What else do you know about the area? It seems like the commute to St Pete's would be between 20-30 minutes...is this realistic?

My next thing is that I will be looking for work, but not right away. I am due to have a baby in July and am a certified special education teacher in NJ (already applied for certification in FL...just waiting to hear back.) I can't seem to find (at least one line) jobs posted for Pinellas Country. What is the easiest way to go about looking for a teaching job down there? Any idea about what the need is for special ed teachers?

Thanks for the help!

Maggie

Pinellas County jobs are posted online through the county's website here ---> Job Openings. I'll defer to others in replying about the City of Seminole in general. Good luck on your new adventure!

Look at the Pinellas County Schools website for information and openings. Seminole is a 20-30 minute commute from the Coast Guard base in St. Pete. Seminole is a quiet and safe place. The main streets of Seminole, Seminole and Park Blvds can be congested at times.

Seminole is where I live and work and my family love it. We have children who have experienced elem to high school and we are happy with that too.
With your qualifications you will be able to find a job I'm sure with the school board.
One great thing is the closeness to the beaches for downtime too. Traffic is not terrible, but it depends on what you are comparing to. If you are transferring from Alaska CG then you might find it a bit busier!
