I might be planning on buying a home soon in Tampa area, specifically in Ruskin. I have seen threads on Ruskin before but they seem pretty older and wanted to know if anything has changed. I was looking at homes in Bay Park and Cypress Creek and wanted to know if those neighborhoods are safe and well kept. I work from home so driving isn't really an issue. Are there better neighborhoods I should be looking at? Crime and homeowner and community
maintenance are my teo concerns. Thanks.

Bay Park and Cypress Creek are good areas. You can search from this website and there is a tab for Ruskin https://www.tampabayhomesearchonline.com

There are dozens of new communities being built either in Ruskin or close to Ruskin. And there are more than those two mentioned above that already exist.

Yes I am, but driving through a couple times wont help. I wanted to know from somebody living there for a few years that might know derail of those communities.

When you visit, be sure to drive along 19th Ave. where there are several communities, some are gated. There are also several new communities now being built, also along 19th ave.
If you qualify for a 55+ community I can give you details of the one where I live. PM me for details if needed.

Ruskin is a ugly hole-in-the-wall FL coastal town. Lots of Dollar Stores, ugly plazas, a small library, some Mom and Pop restaurants, gas stations, etc. There are several new subdivisions being built, but for most things, people travel up to Brandon and Tampa or St Pete.

Both seem pretty good with a bad yards here and there but overall I liked it. Both seem to be closer to I nicer part of Ruskin near 19th Ave and not where US 41 is. The library I saw I believe Southshore seems pretty big lol.

Google Ruskin. Youll see US 41 runs right through it. The area you're describing is near Riverview Wimauma Sun City Center.
