Hello! Being new to the Tampa area I have heared quite a bit about the Florida State Fair. Is there anything I need to know before I go or any advice? Is it large and worth the price? Im asking because I very much enjoy fairs and I have a 15 and a 10 year old coming with me. I want to make sure Im getting my moneys worth before going to it. Thank you!

Avoid Friday, as the schools are out and attendance goes up as a result.

We went on Veterans Day and got in free(up to 3 family members) which is awesome plus free parking. They are doing a discount day tomorrow also for anyone! Always look for those discounts. The fair was very large, lots of rides(didn't ride any, no kids) tons of food and exhibits. We went to many shows. Kept us busy for the entire day and had some very good fair food! Had a great time, better then we expected.

We used to go just to eat. Starve yourself the day before and then major gluttony.
