Unbelievable how low this fine is while many parents lost their kids due to mismanagement and withholding the info from parents and filing these mismanagement’s with the State!

Careful where you bring your kids! John Hopkins and other hospitals are not just good because they have a good name and are in the top 10. There is a lot of information with held from the public.

GOVs Rick Scott/Ron DeSantis administrations in charge of FL regulators. Did you expect anything different? Rick Scott oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in U.S. history.....

The fine was for filing documents late, not for bad patient care. To me that would make a huge difference in what I would expect a fine to be. I worked in healthcare for years. They treat the most ill and 9 adverse issues since 2016 is pretty good. Charging millions wouldn't hurt the hospital at all, only increase costs.

Very well stated. That's what I was thinking. Fines, malpractice, suits all affect the patient's bill.

I understand what you are saying, but at the same time these hospitals don't care if they know they get away so easily.

Maybe no higher fines but the staff to be replaced due to suspensions and not able to stay on if the issue re-occurs.

The corrupt Scott was involved in the largest medicare scam at that date. Sadly it isn't currently the largest medicare fraud anymore, but hey still in the top. The brain numb put the thief back for a 3rd term to prey on the population.
