Does living in the Clearwater-St. Petersburg area make asthma (breathing) more shallow, short of breath or about the same? If someone was moving here with these symptoms, what do you say? Is the humidity an important factor in the city. (It doesn't make it better.)

We moved here from Indiana 4 years ago. Our son at the time was 6. He struggled horribly up North with asthma and was on steroids about every other month plus daily medicine, preventative inhaler and rescue inhaler. Once we moved here, the humidity really helped him and he has only had issues once or twice and that was when he was sick. I know it isn't because he outgrew it either because anytime we have gone back to Indiana to visit, he has had issues while we were there. He does not have activity induced asthma though so it may be different for him. My husband also struggled with asthma before we moved and hasn't had any issues since we got here.
