I live in St Pete and may be starting a new job at TGH. What is the average commute time from St Pete to Davis Island at about 7-8 AM? Thanks.

At that time of day budget about an hour,if theres an accident on the bridge add another hour . Gonna go something like this although at rush hour it would be much more congested.=

Depends on WHERE in St Pete you live! You'll have to experiment with departure times....but I will say that you should never leave at 7a, that's when everybody leaves everywhere....try leaving say at 640a - 15 min one way or the other can change EVERYTHING...but I would definitely be OUT the door before 645, better yet 630....you will be shocked what 5min can yield

that's what the person posted ---

if I worked at TGH, I'd not live in ST Pete or Clearwater....I'd live downtown in a high rise/apartment type complex or Brandon, Bayshore Blvd if you have the income/funds.

It ALL depends on WHEN you LEAVE....did it for several years, and you get to learn...learn times, alt routes, and the other nuances like "weather".

Depends what makes sense for you to take, if you live dtsp NE or the gateway area where you would take the Gandy, it's not that bad and once the connector to the crosstown is done, it will be much faster. Your commute could be crappy in the morning especially during snowbird spring break season, but it would be ok in the afternoon, much better once the expansion is done. Coming from the Howard Franklin would be more problematic, no easy easy to shoot down Tampa you would have to stay on 275 and then you would join the downtown headed traffic.

It’s been quite some time since I made that commute, but it used to take me 1/2 hour in the mornings (lived near downtown St. Pete and worked in downtown Tampa). It took an hour to get home nearly every day. Storms and accidents.
