You would hate FL with 8 months of heat and it will only get worse over time to where we have 90's year round with less and less rain.

Florida is full of people who had a great vacation one winter then went back home, told their boss to shove it and threw everything they own into their car and showed up, only to find that "we pay you in sunshine" and a week in January isn't the same as living here and trying to get used to it if you have no connections to speak of and don't like the heat and humidity. It's advisable to carefully plan using decent information. You could be joining the other 4 million people working 3 jobs to pay for parking and air conditioning expenses.

We moved here from NJ when I was a kid. I always resented my parents for it because the public schools were so bad.

My brother was the favorite so they sent him to private school. It was much better for him.

I'd advise anyone moving anywhere to do their research before "throwing their belongings in the car."

Florida isnt perfect but some of the anti stuff is LOL. Where in CT does this family even live? Ever been to New Haven? Bridgeport? Hartford? Makes Tampa look like Paris.

Well, New Haven does have Yale and great pizza, so there's that.

Sure, and old architecture. However if you prefer the other two cities over Tampa I'd say you'd need your head examined.

Depends. Some cities, like Hartford, can have some pretty nasty parts. I used to do business up there, and I can distinctly recall parts of Hartford that were very, very unsafe.
