I was offered a job at University of Tampa on very short notice. I know very little about Tampa, but it has been recommended Hyde Park, Channelside, Harbour/Davis Island? The little research I have done, it looks like there is very little middle of the road pricing, I.e. it’s either $800-1000 less desirable or 1400-1600. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Preferably 1200-1400 rent if I can find

see what those high rises costs near Channelside.....you'll like it there - a lot happening, getting better with tons of new construction by the Bolt's owner....you probably could walk to U of T. https://www.pierhousetampa.com/

I'd live in a studio if it mean no commute through a ton of traffic and having a ton of stuff to do in the immediate area (NHL, fitness, restaurants, museums, events, etc).

Oh how exciting, congrats!!!! You will love working at UT!!!!! I did!!!!!

You can look all over South Tampa (not just Hyde Park, Davis Island, etc.) and find something in the 1200-1400 range.

Curious as to where the OP decided, as I am in a similar situation.
