Looking for some advice for seasoned hurricane folks- we live in the Clearwater area and are debating whether we should evacuate more inland as this hurricane approaches. I know some parts of Clearwater you don't need to evacuate, so trying to decide if we should just stay locally or if it's worth driving more inland. Basically trying to figure out where is the nearest place from me that is more inland we can drive to where we can have electricity still and will be safe from the hurricane. Thank you for your recommendations!

Nothing to worry about murry. Since it is coming from the east side of the state nate and it is a very small core system , meaning the strongest core winds are only around 15 miles from the storm center. I would expect some gust to around 60mph for the west coast around Tampa unless the storm tracks more to the north or south then we will see much of nothing. Just depends on where it makes landfall on the east coast.

If the storm center is less than 20 miles from Tampa then we get some wind and rain jane. If it is 60 miles or more miles away then much of nothing.

looks like you're in the clear ----it's moving to the WNW.....but always good to have a plan...I wouldn't want to be anywhere near CLW/STP on a hit. Always listen to the weather folks on Spectrum Baynews 9 for recommendations as the pseudo-internet weathergirls here on the internet message boards will guide you in the wrong direction and you'll be sorry.
