Many of these questions are dependant on where you are going to live and you have a LOT of choices.

Here is one source of neighborhood summaries from a publication called Creative Loafing.

 Domestic Help - where to find/rates

Very dependent on where you live--I pay $25 per hour in South Tampa

 Babysitting - where to find/rates

Varies greatly

 School system - best area/public or private?

For public schools, School Accountability Report

 Sports/ Fitness -

Fitness Club : Lifestyle Family Fitness
Home - Tampa Metro YMCA (http://www.tampaymca.org/cmby/ - broken link)
Bally Total Fitness - Your Total Fitness Source

There are also a lot of regional/community clubs inicluding golf clubs.

 Shopping -

Lots of malls ranging with all of the basics. One of the most desireable malls is International Mall

 Gastronomy - what's there and what's not

Tampa Bay City Guide - Recommendations and Reviews by Citysearch

 Entertainment
Welcome To Creative Loafing

 Entertaining at home - casual, formal? How much in advance should we invite? What time is dinner (in Brazil it's very late!)?

Dinner is very early in comparison but will depend on your neighbors...it generally ranges from 6 to 9

 Hospitals/doctors, dentists -

areas specific

 Driving/Public transportation - will we need a car? Is it easy to move round town? Are Tampan good drivers?

Youl will definitely need a car in Tampa, it is not easy to get around without. There are all levels of drivers around Tampa.

 Safety

Generally Tampa is safe but as with everywhere there are areas to avoid.

 Trips around the area

The Beach
A cruise out of Tampa
Florida Aquarium
Museum of Science and Industry
Clearwater Marine Science Center
Busch Gardens
Sea World
Disney
Sarasota

 Favorite things/suggestions

There are tons of athletic and outdoor things to do here and the weather is usually helpful as well.

best,
JJ
