Hello All,

I have to relocate to the Tampa Bay area next month for work. Im a Multifamily Construction Superintendent and will need to commute to South Tampa, Largo and Fruitville/Sarasota for work. This puts me in a tough position if trying to balance commute times. The only thing Ive figured out from my visits is that Id likely need to post up as close to 275 as possible to cover this kind of distance w/o it being 1.5 hours each way. Looking at the Highpoint/Gateway area of N. St Pete. Not really my style but it seems safe at least. Any additional recommendations would be helpful. Im not completely opposed to being east of the bay but Id like decent access to the beach as well. Thank you in advance. Im looking to rent a 2 bedroom the first year around $1,200 to 1,300 per month.

St Pete off 4th street and 275 has a lot of options for apartments. Check out that area.

I would personally try to find a place between where you are already looking and Downtown St. Pete. Your budget is pretty tough though for Pinellas County. If you look hard and just drive around, you may find places with small signs out front that don't list anywhere. Word of mouth is a big deal as well. If you have the luxury of time, find an area you like and hang out in the local watering hole. You'll make friends easily, it's a welcoming place and connections can be invaluable.

And don't think you have to rely on I-275 to go over to South Tampa. The Gandy is MUCH less congested, and is a direct shot from Northern St. Pete to the Southern portion of West Shore Blvd.

It's a very tight market with high demand, people are flocking to the area in record numbers.

Good luck!.

Your area of work is vast. No matter where you choose you will have a long commute at some point. Pinellas County is expensive if you want decent quality.
