What is going to happen with rent and availability this summer in Tampa? I was suppose to move down to a two bedroom apartment or small house.

I'm not seeing any reduction in the prices for rentals.Rentals are being shown online as opposed to in person viewings.

New Yorkers moving down in droves more than ever will raise prices/lower availability.

Yup. You will see no price reduction in this area. There is more demand for housing than there is housing.

People are also forgetting that west coasters just as much come down to the area... and the NW too.

I don't find many NYC people on the Gulf Coast except for Naples and Sarasota. Their view of FL is I-95 all the way. Midwest people however are I-75 bound.

Dunedin is a very rich area, not any cheap rents.

I don't think any rents in Pinellas county are "cheap", at least none that are in safe areas. I think it is an overpriced county considering the crime rate and flood risk. There are nice pockets (Safety Harbor, Countryside, etc.), but for the most part, overpriced.

Overpriced is a point of view. The market determines price. If everyone felt that the prices were "overpriced" they wouldn't rent or buy. But since there is a brisk market at current prices, that must be the fair market value.
