Hi there. Looking for some advice on commute times to downtown Tampa from Wesley Chapel, say around Seven Oaks. For pre-COVID-19 commuting times. Any help would be appreciated.

No, rush hour would be a Bearss.

<rim shot>

45 minutes to an hour at peak times. I've got a buddy who lives in that area and his commute to downtown Tampa at 6:00 am is under 30 minutes. It's all about timing.

Without an accident the drive time from Seven Oaks to down town, depending on Traffic lights is approx 30-35 min.

With an accident the time line can be way longer.

The good news is that if you listen to the news (traffic) you can adjust your route.

For example take I-75 instead of 275 or visa versa if there is an accident or take one of the exits off 275 to avoid traffic.

When road work was done on 275 in Tampa, driving times were way longer.

When the Diamond pattern intersection at St Rd 56 will be ready, everything should improve.

Covid-19, had one positive factor as road work went much faster as the construction on that intersection continued and we didn’t have much rain to interfere.

Big shoutout to the road construction workers as we are all happy when the work is finished. So far there has not been much interference for drivers. To me that is great planning on the side of the people in charge and performing the work.

45 minutes from downtown on a good day. I think the average when things can back to normal is 1 hr. I tested it when thinking on moving to Wesley Chapel in 2017 near the Advent Hospital and I use to work downtown. I could not handle 45 minutes with light traffic around 4pm. Imagine 5 or 530. 275 North out of downtown is hell!
