Has anyone tried the Sling antenna?

I had DirecTV for almost eight years. It's great, but expensive. Their picture quality, guide, and overall interface is second to none, IMHO. But, I had enough of the high cost and the rain fade.

I switched the Spectrum TV, got one DVR box for our master bedroom, and we stream everywhere else. I have a few Samsung Smart TVs that run the native Spectrum app and use Rokus everywhere else.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I ended up going with Sling for TV ($30/mo) and Locast for the local Tampa TV channels (Free).

While a choice has been made, I'll offer my setup for future readers of the thread:

I use a combination of services and hardware to get as many if not more channels than offered on the higher tier cable offerings. Here's how:

Apple TV on all TVs
YouTube TV for network programming $60/month
Tablo OTA DVR $5/month
Pluto TV $0
Spectrum Internet $60/month

If you don't factor our internet monthly cost into the TV budget, we're paying about $65/month to get hundreds of channels of programming. If you do, it's $120/month, but still far less than what we were paying Spectrum for hundreds of TV channels (including premium) in a cable bundle, as well as the rental and DVR fees on their boxes.

I also use Plex as a distribution method for programming that we record on the OTA DVR. The $5/month cost for the Tablo is for the programming subscription that allows scheduled recording of programs. It also provides real time viewing of all local OTA (over the air) channels, too.

This is a far better setup than we had with a cable provider, and we feel like there is as much if not more programming available, too.

I cut the cable and have in error voted for Spectrum so please ignore that one vote as I have AT&T streaming.

Saving every month now $150 which was actually way more but as expected, the streaming cost increased as when you sign up they sign you for way lower amount and then the increasing starts to occur!

How true. That's why I bailed from Frontier. Our cable bill exceeded $200/month, which is ridiculous. When I asked them to help me cut it down, they actually ended up charging me more. That was the end. I cut the cable and have never looked back.

They're all jerks, but Frontier was right up there as the worst.
