Have any of you noticed the trash and general upkeep of our interstates and local roads has deteriorated rapidly during the pandemic? On a drive on 275 from Fletcher down through the malfunction junction is the worst I've ever seen it in 20 years. Local roads too. I can't believe the amount of garbage and pure raw trash on the side of the roads. I know our interstates especially here in Hillsborough County are always poorly maintained, dead trees, overgrown grass, no landscaping etc but this is bad. Pinellas on the other hand seems to have their stuff together they're always planting trees and maintaining their local roads and interstates. Does anyone have inside information? Has funding been cut?

Trash is being caused by very new transplants and travelers from elsewhere that have no sense of responsibility - just like the states and cities they are fleeing - I travel up and down 75 and 275 and even see people from out of state thumping cigarettes out the window.

Tampa and Hillsborough crews are inundated with new work, and yes it's the worst I've see in 27 years or so - don't blame the locals, blame the nasty newcomers from NY NJ CT, and esp Boston....Canadians for the most part are NOT the pollution problem - Heretofore Tampa has never had a problem like this.

Trash has always been there.

Never understood how we have so many unemployed claiming benefits or welfare recipients who could easily be hired to handle that crap.

City of Tampa does it downtown. All of those people with the yellow shirts and rolly trash cans. They do a great job keeping the city clean. I'm pretty sure a lot of them are marginalized folks they recruited.

along the interstates and county roads it's due to travelers and non-residents, NOT locals

Difference = meaning no change in more or less trash. Now in reference to the city picking up more in particular neighborhoods, yes I have seen a difference.
