Hello we are moving from the Houston area to Tampa this summer. We bought a business here in Tampa 18 months ago So my husband has been renting a place near the airport until we move. Currently his office is near the University of South Florida (We would be able to relocate it though). I work from home and do not need to travel. We have a son that will be a freshman so looking at high schools. He is more interested in going the entrepreneurial route vs college so was interested in high schools that may be offered strong classes such as accounting, business and business writing. Could be private or public. I don't think it exists though from everything that I'm searching.

Anyway in terms of what we are looking for:
- 3-4 bedroom home Around 2,800-3,200 square feet
- would love a somewhat walkable area- Or close to an area that has a downtown
- Near biking and walking trails
- close to beach (20 mins drive or able to bike to it)
- price range $600-$950k on lower end of range if house needed work
- We have lived in several downtown neighborhoods in the Chicago area before moving to Houston so know hassles of city living But I would prefer some thing that had more of a city versus suburban feel

With that said if there is an area that checks the boxes let me know. We have cast a pretty wide net and open to different possibilities and moving the location of the office so if commuting wasn't in the picture what would be your top areas? Thanks in advance.

Fishhawk Ranch. Some of the best schools in the state, close to retail and restaurants, large range of properties in the price range you've offered.

20 minutes to the beach? Forget it. Choices are poor, you'll likely be in a flood zone and someplace you have to evacuate in the event of a hurricane.

There are no beaches in Tampa. You would be in Pinellas County to be that close to a beach, and you would be competing with the tourists. Lose the "20 minutes to the beach" and all will be well. It's not realistic with the other things you want.

Sure, no problem. But why DM on this when the whole idea of the forum is to share information? Sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

I would recommend places such as Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Countryside area of Clearwater, Oldsmar, and Westchase for close beach access and access to USF.

Greater Northdale, Lutz, East Lake, and Wesley Chapel are worth looking, but are further away from the beaches.

East Lake Woodlands, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor is what I would recommend.

South Tampa. You said more of city feel versus suburban feel. The rest are extremely suburban in feel.

You clearly don't understand what I meant. Posting information in the forums is "sharing" with anyone who comes along and looks for it. DM'ing is not.
