It’s sort of an extension of Riverview/Apollo Beach. I seriously looked at a house there about 8 years ago, but bought elsewhere. I think the schools are pretty bad there, but overall the part I was looking at was a normal suburban area.

With all of the massive invasion, it's a smart place to look at moving forward...years ago, I mean years ago, it was a crappy place, but the same thing was said about Riverview...now look at Riverview

"Massive invasion"??? The cemetery there is full of my mother's people. They were part of the "years ago"; so maybe "crappy". A lot of our family settlements have become quite nice today. Like Parrish. They say it is a lovely city now. When Mother and her brother grew up there it was (according to my uncle) a mud hole with no roads in and out. You wanted to go somewhere, you walked or rode horseback.

Well, forgive my reminiscing but, at my age, reminiscing is what I do best. Thank you about Wimauma. I was just wondering if it had also grown into a "lovely city". And, by the way, if there is still a railroad in the area, my grandfather helped build it. :-)

I remember reading an article published in the Tampa Bay Times in 2018 about Wimauma becoming a popular place to live. It appears that would only apply to the far western portions of the town. Most of Wimauma is still very rural with migrant workers composing a significant portion of the population. It will probably start experiencing significant growth over the next 10-20 years.

Actually for me would be the late 70's, we would go on weekends from Largo (Pinellas County in case you thought it was Key Largo) to get nice HUGE and Tasty Tomatoes and Corn from their fields for very little outlay $$$$$. We were Young, Poor and loved their veggie Fields . . .

Western portion. I did read something about part of it being farmland. It seems Florida is still a developing state despite all he snowbirds migrating southward. I left - or was taken away - long ago. I'll never see it again. But I like to keep up.

Thank you.
