Tampa area natives, please understand that most of the NYers coming down are MAGA type conservatives, like myself. NYC, at one time, had a large republican/conservative population. How do you think Rudy Gullianni got elected?

So basically now we're being chased out by the left wing radicals like rats. We have very few places to escape to. We don't want to go to Miami because they are all liberal, as well.

Please understand that many of us, god fearing patriots, were pushed out of our own NYC area towns as a result of liberals from all over the country, including places like Florida, moving here to live some sort of "sex and the city" life style while at the same time pushing up our real estate prices. It's now impossible for someone in the NYPD or FDNY or a nurse/teacher/tradesman to afford NYC areas. So we have to leave.

I understand that we can be loud, rude, a bit obnoxious but we, as conservative NY'ers have a lot more in common with you folks than the folks up here.

Add these people to transplants from CA, like I have in my subdivision, my sole experience tells me most are stealth leftists and liberals.

How do you think places like Miami-Dade, and Boca transformed? The same thing is clearly afoot in areas around the larger Tampa Bay. One screaming example is St. Petersburg proper. That place is getting like San Francisco for godsake - I know, I've lived in St. Pete as well, and would never live there again for those reasons. They have infected the whole body politic and lifestyle. It's disgusting.

So, with respect, I differ with you just a bit.

I will not differ with you in that most are loudmouths, rude and know it alls. Agreed.
Love how scared yall are of "leftists" and "liberals." Posting on message boards how New Yorkers and Californians are changing areas politics . I love to hear it! C'mon down, Californians, New Yorkers, and other liberals. FL is cheap and is changing demographically and politically.

Let me guess, this is 'codespeak' for too many gay people, correct?

I'm trying to understand how people of other opinions or political persuasions can drive someone away? I have plenty of neighbors who don't necessarily have the same points of view on a lot of different subjects besides politics that I get along with just fine.

If this were a legitimate concern how could one live anywhere short of a deserted island?

It's not an imaginary concern, it's human nature. Some people have preferences and choose not to be over-exposed to those who obviously don't share the same or similar foundational values. It doesn't make people evil. There are those that others may not wish to interact with, or associate with or live around, or even talk to.

Having different points of view is one thing, having vastly different values, ethics, morals and lifestyles is quite another.

Freedom of thought, speech and association is still a good thing in most cases. Everyone need not embrace everyone and every thing else. It's called choice, within the over-arching concept of civility.

There are those who might not to live around or associate with Kluxers, partiers, dopeheads, BLM members, evangelists, leftists/socialists, drunks, loudmouths, former convicts, homosexuals, etc.

So what? it's nothing new, or certainly not odd, or even inappropriate. Humans have preferences I submit. It's pretty easy to understand.

I had to re-read the other poster's longer comment. The other poster did not mention homo/sexuals or hetero/sexuals, so I'm a bit confused ! there was no codespeak at all ! maybe something is rolling around in your own head? I've lived in SP and I find it now a bit undesirable for several reasons, including crime stats, and politics and increase in taxes.
