I meant that Palm Harbor and Dunedin were close to each other. Not NPR and Palm Harbor/Dunedin.

But this was good info also, so thanks for sharing!

Palm Harbor is an unincorporated town in Pinellas County. Dunedin is a city in Pinellas County.

Dunedin is more geographically compact; Palm Harbor spreads across US-19 and MacMullen Boorth into East Lake and Boot Ranch.

Dunedin has established itself as a tourist destination with its cute downtown boutique (and sometimes touristy) shops and numerous microbreweries. Palm harbor doesn't have a "downtown" area with shops and the variety of restaurants that Dunedin has.

Schools are strange in Florida, or at least in Pinellas County. You can live in Dunedin but go to school in Palm Harbor. Or the reverse. For example, you can live in Dunedin, but be zoned for Palm Harbor Middle School. Here is a map of the zoned schools.

In addition to the zoned schools, there are magnet schools; district schools, and the high schools are really confusing. For example, there is the Academy of Architectural Design, Robotics and Building Tech at Dunedin High magnet program. If kids and public schools are involved, prepare to be confused by the county-wide operation of schools.

So out of these cities listed, which would be the best for a retired senior citizen that is active but not really wanting to live in a neighborhood with many children. Dunedin? I love my grandchildren, but sometimes i want peace and quiet.

I did a quick look and it seems the HOA fees are less than 115 a month. Goodness, they get a lot of amenities for that amount.

I suggest checking on the CDD, it could be a lot more.

Seems they do get alot for that amount. My friend lives in the Mainlands in Pinellas Park, and her HOA it 350, so go as high as 380.
