Did anyone here ever have a procedure/surgery done at Helen Ellis Hospital in Tarpon Springs? I am scheduled for tomorrow and am in a panic mode

I been to Mease Countryside before and they were excellent but they don't take my insurance anymore.

Thanks in advance
Mandy

Never been there, but my Dr. recommends both Helen Ellis and Mease for inpatient treatment.

I delivered my daughter there by c-section a few years ago. They were extremely kind and helpful. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I have also been to their emergency room one evening and was also treated very well in a timely matter. I have also been to Mease countryside. Both are great hospitals, you shouldnt worry.

I'm kind of picky since I'm an RN; I was there, in both the ER and and in CCU, and was happy with my care totally, just one nurse on a med/surg floor that jumbled all my meds together and expected me to take them, no questions asked (the rest of the nurses opened the individual pills in front of me and identified each and every one; a good idea since it's easy to make a "medication error"), and tried to give me one pill with all the rest that is supposed to be taken alone, 1/2 hour prior to any food/drink/other meds. Then he tried to blame it on the doctor, "well your Doctor ordered it that way." Bull, I'm a nurse, I know better. I called the pharmacy, had the doctor paged, the nurse lied to me to make his job easier. Nope, ain't havin' it.
Other that that, it was wonderful, great care by both docs and nurses. It's not a major trauma center kind of hospital, but it's highly recommended. The few hospitals around New Port Richey I was advised to avoid at all costs, so I headed over to Tarpon Springs when I needed a hospital.
