Really liking the Pebble Creek area but concerned about the commute into (what I guess is considered downtown Tampa?) the 33614 zip code area. Google maps says its about a 15 mile drive.

Is Tampa commuting unbearable? The commute looks like it will mostly be on Bruce Downs Blvd to E Bearss Ave to 275S.

Is this a practical commute 5 days a week?

It's doable, but driving time depends on the time you will be leaving to/returning from work.
During rush hours count on 1 hr drive each way.

Bruce B Downs is wide enough however, still busy and I never experienced driving from signal to signal without catching all greens, so bottom line it takes time to get from Pebble Creek to Bearss using Bruce B Downs. Bearss itself is always busy, and I-275 - stop and go all the way from Fletcher exist all the way to downtown exit.
Alternative would be to take Bruce B Downs north towards SR 56 and then I-75 to I-275, but you will also hit a lot of traffic.
Even though distance is not that bad, traffic is and pretty tiring.

I would look into Carrollwood, Westchase, Town and Country for easier commute
