While parts of the nation are seeing falling home prices, the Tampa, Florida area isn't one of them, according to a new RE/MAX housing report.

According to the August report, Tampa ranked second in the nation in year-over-year price gains with median home sale prices rising from $310,000 in August 2021 to $370,000 in August 2022, a growth of 19.4%.

You're welcome.

Be sure to use the drop-down so you're looking at single family homes and not the aggregate for the area.

Weighing the pros and cons, I think ultimately it's a good thing.

For whatever the reason... Hillsborough County was always viewed as a poor county years ago compared to some of the other counties in Florida. Home values in the not too distant past were almost half of what they were in Miami / Fort Lauderdale. So it became VERY affordable to many people in the rest of the country who wanted to move to Florida. Because of this... you had a massive, massive influx of people moving here, without decent infrastructure to support them.

The continued increase in prices means people still want to move here, but it also makes it less affordable for new people to move here, meaning that the city will hopefully have time to catch their breath on infrastructure projects. At least I hope...

Certainly, it's good if you are still selling...

It’s not the city but the County who needs to up their infrastructure game, and that’s not happening, nor will it for some years, if ever.

The County commissioners played “footsie” with developers for decades, and as a result between that and the financial crisis of the 2008-2012 years we'll always be in “catch-up” mode.

Projects being done right now are as old as 20 years, to give you an idea of how bad it is.

Yeah, I remember you posting something about this somewhere. it sucks... it really does. Fishhawk (and I'm sure other communities) need better infrastructure. We need two lanes going down whatever this road is outside of Fishhawk, and Lithia Pinecrest.
