And she's on the national news feeds now, too. Must be a slow news day.

Smile, flash the badge, wink and drive on. Happens every day, everywhere.

Orwell said it best; "Some of the animals are more equal than others."

They could shoot you and kill you and 9 outta 10 times they get "punished" with a paid vacation.

I ain't woke, just awake.

She got the axe. It was well deserved, if it had been one of us we would have gotten a ticket and not just a warning.

It's not just the corruption, it's the stupidity. The officer told her she was on video, and she still played the entitled card. Hopefully her replacement will be more intelligent and less corrupt.

Hey, this is a perk of the job. What is big deal? If the police chief
can't get a free favor, who does? The incident should be private anyway.

In Chicago, the mayor went to buy donuts while her security staff waited in the car
in a bike zone. The paper here put it on the front page! Ridiculous,
who cares? She also went to get her hair done during the COVID quaratine/
With so much corruption in government, all this is nothing.

Being able to flaunt the law is not a "perk" of the job. If anything, anyone in a position of authority like this should be held to a higher standard. In the case of the mayor I can see where the requirements of their office and the way it imposes onto their personal lives there being some consideration, but this was not one of those cases.

I'm a government employee. I've been in situations where my employer is known which could give me benefits or preferential treatment, such as moving up in line, or being served before other, non-government employees. I can't imagine doing that.

Yes, I get the professional courtesy thing, but this was a flagrant effort to avoid a ticket or circumvent the law because of someone's position of power or authority. Now had they presented their ID and not said anything as a part of the traffic stop and the arresting officer noticed who they were and decided to let them go is a wholly different thing. That would have been at the discretion of the officer. (Which is how they should have handled this.)

That's just wrong, no matter how you paint it.
