Do you use the pool a lot? if not and the people with the kids are staying a while i'd consider draining the pool and putting a cover over it...
How bad will you feel if one of those kids drowns in the pool? .

Be careful draining an in ground pool or you might wind up with a big repair bill. Think toast popping out of a toaster except pretend its all wet and muddy. Maybe like toast with gravy. Okay pretend you are pushing a bowl down into a sink of water - that resistance disappears when you fill the bowl with water. Without water the bowl wants to pop back out. Think toaster! Florida has many areas with a high water table, i.e. the sink is full and the pool needs the water.
