We have several good realtors who post here regularly.
They provide good information to many looking to move to Tampa 'for free'.

Odessa is a nice area. There are some new nabes but the older homes come with more land and have a more 'old FL' feel, IMHO. Most of the lakes are spring fed and though they get low during drought there is always some water.

Possible choices for you in Odessa are Ivy Lake Estates, Grey Hawk at Lake Polo, Eagles (if you're into golf), and Northton Groves (small community of David Weekley homes). These are all five years and newer. I'm going to assume also if you looked at Waterchase you also saw Highland Park, too.

I recently had a house built in Grey Hawk. I absolutely love my home and community. It is a safe, family friendly area close to the Suncoast and shopping. I bought at the height of the market, but now you can really get a great deal on new constuction. I started out looking in Wesley Chapel, liked it, but found it to be a little too congested. I think Odessa has a more rural feel to it, without everything being so closed in. Schools are good too.

Hi! I live in Ivy Lake Estates and it too is a wonderful community with friendly neighbors, beautiful homes and a new Super Target just down the road. There are stores, restaurants and medical offices opening as well and the Suncoast is down the road make a left and boom 20 minutes to Tampa airport.

Good luck looking!

I love Odessa. Where you go depends on how badly you need to get elsewhere--parts of Odessa are closer to the Veterans, to 54, etc. Part of the town is in Pasco county, part is in Hillsborough--so if schools are a concern that is something to consider, too.

Canterbury Village is very nice, too. I echo the other places mentioned. Do you want small, or huge with amenities? (Eagles is massive; Canterbury is small). You can also skip the subdivision entirely at that price and get a lake front home.

Good luck!
