Hi Scott I am married and have 2 children as well. We are located in Riverview which is just 3 miles from I-75 exit 246. We have lived in the area for 9 years now. It takes about 35 minutes to drive to North Tampa from here and about 45 minute s to Sarasota area. Brandon Hospital is about 20 minutes North of Riverview, and Tampa General is located in downtown Tampa 25 minutes away via Crosstown Expressway. There is a smaller hospital in retiree Sun City Center just 10 minues south. They have proposed building a new hospital at our exit 246 sometime in the very near future. East Bay High School is just 4 miles from us. My wife has been wanting to move back to her home town of Chattanooga for years. We have just decided to get our house ready to sell. Moderator cut: ..I am a real estate appraiser and know the areas very well. Best of luck to you & your family. Scott P

We promised that we wouldn't make her move. When they do move down in JUne of 2009, my son will be entering high school as a freshman. My wife is in the medical field and will be working out of a hospital or physician's office. We are looking for a 3 to 4 bedroom home, 2 bath, garage and in ground pool in a SAFE neighborhood in a GREAT school district. I read a lot of the replies from the lady looking to move to Wesley Chapel. Income level will be around 90,000.00 so what can we expect to get with that ? We don't know much about costs, insurance, taxes, etc. Schools and Neighborhoods are very important to us. Can anyone else out there help this poor cold northern boy...... Thanks Scott.

Tampa Native here. Sarasota is beautiful. You will want to check out the crime rate and types for where ever you move. Consider gas. You may want to consider buying now its a buyers market.
My friend has a house for sale in S. Tampa which is a GREAT place to live. Its where I lived then I moved to Pasco County which I do not recommend to anyone. Elec bill last mo for 1250.sf home was 500.00. Stay away from that. yikes. Anyways go to TBO.com check crime rates. Also check sex offenders too. My brother lives in a place called Valrico and its just outside of Brandon and a very nice place also.
You may want to buy now it is a Buyers market and you can get some great deals. Lots of foreclosures to choose from also.
Good luck to you. Im moving to Pinellas county now I cant stand the bills and the distance you have to drive out here in Pasco county.
LOL has everyone done their time in Suffering Springs? Sulpher Springs
gun shots ring out and crack is all over.
Check for the crack also should be able to check for that as well as other crimes.
I would take my family to Brandon, valrico or South Tampa Westshore area.
Hope it helps.

I would suggest Brandon, Riverview, and Valrico. Good areas. Riverview high is a really good school.

I live in Temple Terrace and work in Brandon, and you can find some nice places to live in either one. (Brandon is much bigger) You might want to look at Thonotosassa--between Temple Terrace and Brandon/Seffner--it has a rural feel, but is quite close in. You can find acreage there if you want--or there is a lovely little subdivision called "Toulon" with newer homes in the 300-500K range.

Good luck!
