Have you thought about the Trinity or Odessa area? Even the Eagles are very nice. We moved from New York in October and spent months looking at several areas. We ended up picking Odessa off 54 and right near the Suncoast Highway. It's about 20 minutes to the airport and International Plaza.

Unhappy Bad Schools, Good Neighborhoods??

I keep hearing how bad the schools are but on-line many seem pretty much on par with NY/NJ schools. Yes, I'm sure there are some to avoid and every school has issues so what's so "bad" about them? Could someone please tell me what the real deal is?

Schools on our possible list are Sickles, Alonso, Gaither and Wharton based on looking at Lutz/New Tampa, Westchase, Carrollwood and Brandon. Also, I just read a post that kids might not be admitted to their neighborhood school ... Is that true, and if so what's up with that?

Please help! Want to be sure we make the most informed decision possible.

P.s. I took a quick drive through South Tampa on my last business trip. Great houses but not for me; too congested and a little too upper class. Hopefully will get to Tampa soon to look at other areas ...

I moved to Trinity because I could get to the airport in under 30 min. I would take a look at the trinity area when you come to visit, as it has a lot to offer.
